Stock Keeping Unit: Also known as "SKU" this is the unit of measurement that is used to count the number of units in stock. Typically, this is the product's package such as drum or bag. However, it can also be pounds or gallons if the item is a bulk item. Case Pack Factor: The number of stock keeping units in a case. For example, if a sporting goods store only sold baseballs by the box nd there were 24 in a box, the case pack factor would be 24. Selling Unit Factor: The selling unit factor is the number of selling units in a stock keeping unit. For example, in a 55 gallon drum, the selling unit factor would be 55. Selling Unit: The unit of measurement that has a price applied to it. If a product was priced at $1.00 per pound, the selling unit would be a pound. Billing Unit: Unit of measurement used to determine our average cost. Usually the same as the selling unit. Cube/Weight Unit: Cube/Weight unit UOM used to identify the container on which the cube weight is calculated. Gross Weight: The gross weight of the SKU including the material being sold plus the weight of the package. For example, if we sold 352 pounds of a solvent in a drum and the drum itself weighed 40 pounds, the gross weight would be 392 pounds. The gross weight is typically used to calculate shipping costs. Net Weight: The net weight of the SKU does not include the weight of the package. For example, if we sold 352 pounds of a solvent in a drum, the net weight would be 352 pounds. If the item sold at $1.00 per pound, the total price of the drum would be $352--as we would not charge the customer for the weight of the drum, only the material that they can actually use. Pounds per Gallon: The density of liquid products is often measured in "pounds per gallon." Container Code: The container code indicates what type of container is used to package the material. NFPA Code: National Fire Protection Association Code Rup Code: Restricted Use Product. The status of a product may be categorized by this code. Some products can only be sold to customers that have a license to legally use the product. DOT Hazard Material: Department of Transportation. DOT sets hazard indicators for all chemical products and these indicators are used when a product is transported via the roadways. OSHA: Occupational Saftey and Health Administration. This field is a Y/N flag indicating if the product is covered by OSHA regulations. Sara 313: Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act. This field is a Y/N flag indicating whether the product is covered by SARA air emissions reporting requirements. Sara 302: Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act. This field is a Y/N flag indicating the product is considered to be extremely hazardous under SARA CA Prop: California Proposition. This field is a Y/N flag indicating whether the product is subject to California's Proposition 65 requirements. Ship Name Code: The ship name code, used on the bill of lading, is the proper naming convention for a chemical product. Products are often sold under brand names or blends so the ship name code provides a more fundamental description of the true makeup of the product.
